For those of you in the market for a new primary laptop (vs. a netbook) I encourage you to check out our updated Studio 15 laptop.In the past, I used both Latitude (on company expense) and Inspiron (on my own expense).
I found the Inspiron great value for money, especially personal money.
However, lately, I noticed that Dell does not offer as much customization choice for the Inspiron series – eg I can only settle for Vista Home Basic, no choice in processor, RAM, hard disk size etc.
Dell has standardized down the Inspiron series’ hardware configuration.
Therefore, the more advanced customers have to opt for XPS or Studio series to get more configuration choices.
An office colleague asked me to recommend a Dell laptop for his son last week.
My advise to him, wait for the PC Fair 2009 to start.
For the past few PC Fairs, Dell Malaysia offered very attractive offers during the fair.
With this slow economy, I am pretty sure that Dell will want to grap a share of the PC Fair crowd at the fair locations and outside.
When is a good time to buy a Dell ?
